Creative Work in the Age of AI
On staying human, shipping independent work, and the creative opportunity ahead.
New tools do not remove the need for taste. They expose it.
When execution becomes faster, the quality of a question matters more. So does the ability to recognise what is alive in an idea—and what is merely polished.
The work behind the work
Creative practice has always included invisible labour: collecting references, forming opinions, discarding obvious answers, and returning to a problem long enough for a better one to appear.
AI can compress parts of that process. It cannot decide what is worth saying on your behalf. That responsibility remains deeply personal.
A wider field of possibility
The most interesting outcome is not infinite content. It is that more people can make the specific things they once lacked the time, team, or technical range to attempt. The opportunity is breadth in service of depth—not output for its own sake.
